Dentures in Jacksonville, Florida, are strong, beautiful dental appliances that look just like your natural teeth and gums. They successfully replace your missing teeth and they give you the stunning smile you are looking for.

To help you know more about dentures, our Dr. James E. Gaff team is happy to explain the denture-creating process to you. This process involves these four steps:

Step 1: First, your dentist will make a series of impressions of your jaw and gums. This will involve placing a tray full of molding goo into your mouth. Your dentist will also take measurements of your jaw and will see how much space is between the two jaws.

Step 2: Your dentist will then create models, wax forms, or plastic patterns in the exact shape of the denture that will be made for you. Next, you will try on this model several times and you will examine its color, shape, and fit to make sure it is perfect.

Step 3: Once the model is the correct color, size, and shape, your dentist will finally cast the denture.

Step 4: When the appliance is created, you will try it on and make any adjustments necessary.

As you can see, the process of making a denture is simple and easy. Once you complete these four steps, you will have a perfect-fitting denture that is molded to fit along the curves and structures of your mouth.
