One-Visit CrownsCEREC one visit crowns

CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration in Esthetic Ceramics) is a high-quality system that allows us to restore damaged teeth in a single visit. We use ceramic and metal-free material to replace crown damage, which allows us to match it to your own teeth. The material is also anti-abrasive and plaque resistant, ensuring a quality, long-lasting alternative to traditional dental molds and repeat visits for crown treatments. The CEREC system is an exciting addition to our office and we look forward to showing you how it can provide beautiful, strong results without requiring several visits!

Same Day Crowns? Really?

Traditionally, dental procedures like crowns require more than one visit to the dentist. On the first visit, your tooth is prepared, an impression taken, and a temporary is fitted. Then several weeks later, once the permanent crown has been manufactured, a second appointment is needed to have the temporary removed and the final restoration cemented.

But using our leading-edge CEREC 3-D technology, the procedure is done in a single appointment, and usually in as little as an hour and a half.

First, we prepare your tooth for the restoration. Then, we coat your tooth with a non-toxic, tasteless powder and use a special camera to take a digital picture of your tooth.

Using the digital image, the CEREC computer helps us create the restoration for your tooth. The CEREC 3-D software converts the image into a 3D virtual model on the computer screen. We then use our dental expertise to design the restoration using the CEREC 3-D computer program.

Within a few minutes, the restoration design data is sent to a separate milling machine in the office. A high quality ceramic block that matches your tooth shade is placed in the milling machine. About 10 - 20 minutes later, your all-ceramic, tooth-colored restoration is finished and ready for bonding to your tooth.

Finally, we try the restoration in your mouth to ensure proper fit and bite. The restoration is then polished and bonded to the prepared tooth. Your tooth is restored with no return trip necessary. All of this is done in a single appointment.

Just another example of how our highly-trained staff and state-of-the-art equipment can have you smiling again in no time.
