Usually healthy adults benefit from a professional dental cleaning and check-up ever six months. Twice daily brushing and flossing go a long way toward maintaining good dental health but a professional cleaning will also remove plaque and tartar.

My gums bleed after I brush, is this something to be concerned about?

Bleeding gums are always a concern. Healthy gums do not bleed. The level of concern and treatment will be determined by the cause of the bleeding. Rough or improper brushing, a hard-bristled toothbrush, plaque/tartar buildup along the gum line, or periodontal disease can be the cause of bleeding gums. Whether you need to change your home care or periodontal therapy we can help you. Please call us today with any questions and to schedule an appointment to keep you and your gums healthy.
